Shadow Priest
TBC Classic PVP Guide
Overview
Shadow Priest is an aggressive DPS/healer hybrid in TBC PVP. Vampiric Embrace converts Shadow damage into group healing, allowing you to DPS while keeping teammates alive. Shadow Word: Death is a powerful execute and interrupt-breaker. Mind Blast hits hard. Psychic Scream provides AoE fear. Shadow Priest works best in aggressive 3v3 comps like SPriest/Rogue/Mage where your burst + healing hybrid role lets you run without a dedicated healer.

Faction Racials
Undead — WotF + Devouring Plague
WotF breaks Fear — defensive lifesaver. Devouring Plague adds a powerful DoT + heal combo to your already strong damage kit. Best Horde Shadow Priest race.
Dwarf — Fear Ward
Fear Ward prevents one Fear on yourself or a teammate. Huge against Warlocks. Stoneform removes bleeds. Best Alliance Shadow Priest race despite being a DPS spec.
Human — Perception
Detects stealthed enemies. Less critical for Shadow than for Disc since you're a DPS. Second choice.
Arena Strategy
Shadow Priest Fundamentals
You are a hybrid — DPS that provides group healing through Vampiric Embrace. Your damage (SW:Pain, Mind Blast, SW:Death, Mind Flay) converts to healing for your team via VE. This means your team sustains without a dedicated healer as long as you're doing damage. Stop DPSing and your team dies.
Burst Rotation
Kill go: SW:Pain (instant) → Mind Blast (1.5 sec cast) → SW:Death (instant execute). This burst combo does 3000-5000 damage in 2 seconds. Combined with Rogue or Mage burst, targets melt. SW:Death damages you too — don't use it at low HP.
Silence and CC
Silence is a 5-second interrupt on a 45-second cooldown. Use it on enemy healers during kill windows. Psychic Scream is AoE fear — use for emergency peels or offensive CC during goes. These are your only CC — use them wisely.

Battleground Role
You are a team fight monster. Vampiric Embrace turns your AoE DoT pressure into group healing. SW:Pain every enemy in range — your team heals through VE. Mind Blast priority targets.
